Farm, Fend for Yourself, Laugh – Single and Homesteading

This too better f*&%ing pass

Have you ever experienced so much shit that it feels like getting punched in the face but you can’t feel the sting anymore? If you’re immediate response was, “yes.” You’re in good company. This week has been a bastard. My long weekend was abruptly ended with nonsensical crap at work. Why do people get away with doing nothing? What is happening here? Usually I blow stuff like that off because people who fly under the radar always get found out – just never when you want it to happen. There is a lot going on at work so maybe that’s why my feathers are getting ruffled more than usual. On top of the lack of support, I feel like I’m bleeding money. Don’t get me wrong – I do make a good living and I’m grateful. Unfortunately, my sweet pit bull tore her other ACL and she got her consultation with the surgeon today. Sticker shock isn’t the right word. My heart dropped to my heel and bounced landing in my stomach. WTF?! Of course, that was an inside thought. Apparently, the surgey price increased due to inflation – like everything. It is what it is, I guess. I love my dogs and it’s easy to forget at times that we as owners are their world.

It feels like anytime I take a few steps forward, my ass gets dragged backwards. It’s tough right now even though I know how to manifest thoughts into reality. Life always throws curveballs especially when you think you have your shit together. I’ve gotten better at keeping my emotions in check and being more grounded before reacting. It’s not my dog’s fault that she is hurt. I can’t blame the vet. It’s the circumstances at hand. It is happening at a horrible time, but where would lesson be if it didn’t unfold that way. I already made a promise to myself that I would get my barn kitty and her litter spayed and neutered because I refuse to be part of the problem. That’s scheduled for next week. Oh and to add one more layer of fuckery to my life, I decided to purchase a riding lawnmower. I have five acres and the grass has gotten out of control in the backyard. The bigger field isn’t an issue because the horses are grazing. Now before you judge, I swear I’ve been checking for used equipment for months and I haven’t found anything that is worth the time and money. Side note: why do people refuse to respond to message on FB Marketplace when they’re posting their crap for sale?

Back to manifestation. I always have to remind myself that whenever everything feels overwhelming and falling apart it usually means you’re so close to the finish line. Blessings are imminent. Things are coming to a close and you’re being tested. Try not to stress and let things go. Just let it be. Easier said than done, but if you consume yourself with the problems your energy is being wasted. I have to keep reminding myself of this and hopefully it helps someone out there going through something similar.

Meet Ms. Lou and her Crew

Everyone meet Ms. Lou and her crew – Louie, Gabbie, Lillie and Frankie! It’s kitten season and we have five official new members to the homestead. The babes are spunky, healthy and getting bigger by the day. Before you ask – yes, I’m keeping all of them (le sigh). I couldn’t give them up. They will be spayed and neutered here soon so we’re not repeating cycles. Mama is a fantastic hunter so the mice population will take a hit once all the babes are actively looking for things to eat. My gazebo is there new home and jungle gym – oh well, I really don’t need a she-shed. We must sacrifices and these gatos will have a happy life and enjoy farm life.Everyone meet Ms. Lou and her crew – Louie, Gabbie, Lillie and Frankie!
