Unleash Your Inner Rebel

Folks, there’s a lot going on right now. It’s overwhelming. It’s uncomfortable. But discomfort is where change begins. We, as a collective, have a responsibility to push back, fight back, and rebel against those who intentionally harm others for financial gain and power.

This space – this blog – this movement stands for public lands, victory gardens, vaccines, science, medicine, herbs, holistic healing, raising animals, education, women’s rights, reproductive rights, marginalized communities, veterans, Indigenous people, protecting our children, protecting the environment, boycotting greedy corporations, free Palestine, the fact that no one is illegal, religious freedom, free school lunches, and the belief that kids should be safe in schools.

Viva Mexico y que viva ser una pinche bruja!

So, where do we start?

Start From the Inside Out

Rebellion doesn’t always mean taking to the streets (though that has its place). It means reshaping our everyday lives to be less dependent on the systems that exploit us. It means making intentional choices that disrupt the power structures trying to keep us complacent.

Here’s where you can start today:

1. Grow Your Own Food

Food is about to get even more expensive. Supply chains are unreliable, and corporate greed isn’t slowing down. If you have land, plant perennials and food you actually want to eat. If you don’t have land, look into hydroponics or container gardening. Start small with some herbs on a windowsill, a few tomato plants on a balcony. Fresh, homegrown food is a radical act.

2. Build Your Knowledge Arsenal

Knowledge is power, and they’re doing everything they can to control it. Buy books. Get a library card. Focus on books that teach gardening, canning, baking, cooking, and self-sufficiency. If you can’t buy books, check out PDFs online or find free educational resources. We must reclaim the power of education for ourselves and our communities.

3. Support Local and Barter When You Can

Not everyone has the privilege of canceling subscriptions or cutting off corporate services, but shifting even a small percentage of your spending to local sources makes a difference.

Download the Farmish app or search for local farmers, ranchers, and artisans. Buy eggs from a neighbor instead of the grocery store. Support Indigenous and small-business makers. Trade skills and goods with people in your community. We have to get comfortable with self-sustaining local economies because they’re trying to make us completely dependent on their supply chains.

4. Hit Them Where It Hurts Their Profits

Billionaires don’t care about petitions or tweets. They care about their bottom line.

Boycott corporations that exploit people and the planet.

Stop buying from companies that fund war, destruction, and human suffering.

Find alternatives for things you regularly purchase whether that’s food, clothing, or home goods.

Every dollar spent is a vote. Let’s stop voting for our own oppression.

Rebellion is a Lifestyle

This fight isn’t about a single moment it’s a way of life. It’s about unlearning everything we’ve been conditioned to accept and building something better.

We take care of our people. We take care of the land. We fight for the vulnerable. We resist the systems that thrive on exploitation. And we do it together.

So, start small, start where you are, but start today.

The revolution is growing one seed, one book, one act of defiance at a time.
